Waterfront, Boat Launch and Moorage

The Point on Wood Lake provides access to the lake, beach, docks, boat launch, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. Please use all waterfront areas responsibly and follow posted rules and property-team instructions.

Waterfront Safety

There is no lifeguard on duty. Use of the lake, beach, docks, boat launch and recreational equipment is at your own risk.

The water becomes deep very quickly near the shoreline and docks. Children, inexperienced swimmers and non-swimmers must be closely supervised and should wear a properly fitted personal flotation device near or in the water.

  • Children and minors must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
  • Do not swim, paddle, boat or use waterfront equipment while impaired.
  • Do not run or engage in horseplay on the docks.
  • Glass containers are not permitted on the beach or docks.
  • Assess the weather, wind, visibility and water conditions before entering the water.
  • Personal flotation devices must be worn where required and are strongly recommended for all water activities.

Diving

Diving is permitted only from the far end of the dock, where the water is approximately 25 feet deep.

Water levels, visibility and underwater conditions can change. Before diving, confirm that the area is clear of swimmers, boats and visible obstructions.

Do not dive:

  • From the sides of the dock, beach, shoreline, boat launch, ladders or any other structure
  • During poor visibility, unsafe weather or rough water conditions
  • After dark
  • While impaired
  • When another person, boat or watercraft is within the entry area

Kayaks and Paddleboards

Resort kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and lifejackets are available to registered guests without an additional rental fee, subject to availability and conditions.

  • Use equipment only during daylight hours and in permitted areas.
  • Do not use equipment during high winds, storms, poor visibility or other unsafe conditions.
  • Follow all posted capacity limits and safety instructions.
  • Return equipment and lifejackets to their designated location after use.
  • Report any damage, missing equipment or safety concerns immediately.

Bringing a Boat

Guests bringing a boat must contact the property team before arrival to arrange launch, moorage and trailer details and complete any required agreement.

Only approved vessels and authorized operators may use the property in connection with a reservation. Operators are responsible for meeting all applicable licensing, competency, registration, insurance and Transport Canada safety requirements.

The boat launch, docks and waterfront areas are for registered guests only. Visitors, vendors, neighbours and members of the public may not use the property for launching, retrieval, moorage, parking, storage or lake access without prior written approval.

Boat Launch and Moorage

  • Boat launching and retrieval are permitted during daylight hours only.
  • Do not block the boat launch, driveways, parking areas or emergency-access routes.
  • Launch, load, unload and moor boats only in areas assigned or approved by the property team.
  • Dock or buoy moorage is subject to availability and is not guaranteed unless confirmed in writing.
  • Approach docks and swimming areas slowly and avoid excessive wake, thrust or propeller wash.
  • Guests must provide appropriate lines, fenders and securing equipment and monitor their vessel throughout the stay.
  • Boats must be moved or removed immediately if directed by the property team.
  • Refuelling, transferring fuel and significant mechanical work are prohibited at all resort docks and buoys.
  • Report any collision, spill, damage or unsafe condition immediately.

Boat Trailers

Boat-trailer parking must be arranged with the property team before arrival.

Trailers may not be parked or stored on the main property during a stay unless specifically approved in writing. Designated off-site trailer storage may be available. Guests remain responsible for moving, securing, locking and retrieving their trailers and anything left in or on them.

Closures and Restrictions

The property team may restrict or close the beach, docks, boat launch, moorage or recreational equipment at any time because of weather, water conditions, wildfire, smoke, maintenance, safety or operational requirements.
