Yes, online check-in is mandatory. You can complete it from 2 days before arrival until 8:00 PM on your arrival day.
Online check-in speeds up registration, avoids queues at reception, and lets you add extra services to enhance your stay. You’ll be asked to confirm your details, upload a photo of your face and ID, and (if you booked through a travel agency such as Booking, Hostelworld, or Expedia) enter a credit card for the key deposit and any extras not included in your booking, such as the city tax.
Without completing online check-in, access to the hostel cannot be guaranteed.
Why do I need to provide a credit card during online check-in?
Some online travel agencies (like Booking, Hostelworld, or Expedia) don’t collect the key deposit or the city tax when you make your reservation. During online check-in, we ask for a valid credit card to cover these requirements.
A temporary hold of €10 may be placed as a security deposit for possible damage or lost keys — this is not a charge and is automatically released after check-out.
The city tax is €2 per person per night, which can be paid in cash at reception or, if not settled, will be charged to the card provided after departure.
The payment I made online was cancelled — is that normal?
Yes. If you booked directly through our website, a pre-authorization (temporary hold) is made on your card to confirm your booking.
If a long time passes between booking and arrival, this hold may automatically expire. Don’t worry — your booking remains valid. We might re-authorize the amount before your arrival, but this requires no action on your part.

Guests who have completed online check-in can access the hostel and collect their key even after 8:00 PM.
Late arrivals are accepted until 11:59 PM.
Arrivals after midnight require the Late Arrival service (€7), which can be added directly from your guest area. This small fee allows us to keep prices low for everyone while still offering flexible arrival times.
How can I reach the hostel?
We are about 1.5 km from the city center and train station (a 15–20 minute walk).
A city bus stop is right next to the hostel entrance, with buses every 20 minutes until midnight. Tickets can be purchased onboard or at any “Tabacchi” shop.
