Things to Consider When Packing:
- Sagamore provides bedding, bath towels and bar soap for your convenience
- We do not have a guest laundry facility
- All of our water is safe to drink, we encourage you to bring a refillable water bottle
- Weather in the Adirondacks can vary greatly, even in the course of one day. Please check the forecast and plan ahead. Warm layers, raingear, and appropriate shoes are always a good idea
- Great Camp Sagamore is surrounded by woods and water. The prevalence of biting insects varies, but repellent is always good to have handy
- There is a shared, guest fridge in the Dining Hall and a critter-proof container in each room if you would like to bring snacks or beverages
- We recommend putting your name on items so that if they are lost, they can be returned to you
Suggested Packing List:
Please DO bring:
- Bug Repellent
- Flashlight and batteries
- Daypack or Backpack
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Refillable water bottle
- Travel mug for coffee/tea
- Beach towel & Bathing suit
- Toiletries (including shampoo and conditioner)
- Necessary medications/vitamins (including EpiPens)
Clothing for several days, including:
- Rain gear
- Pajamas
- Socks & Underwear
- Shirts
- Pants/shorts
- Warm layers (even in Summer, but especially in Sept/Oct)
Comfortable shoes for:
- HIking/walking
- Canoeing/kayaking
- Water (preferably with a back strap, not flip-flops)
You may WANT to bring:
- Board games, cards, etc.
- Binoculars
- Camera
- Book
- Picnic blanket
- Folding camp-chair
Please do NOT bring:
- Electrical appliances or toys
- Knives or other weapons
- Fireworks
- Toy guns/water guns
- Frisbees, flying toys, or hard balls (i.e. baseballs)
